Port Tonic, A PLACE AT LES ISSAMBRES BETWEEN LAND AND SEA
Port Tonic is an old shipyard overlooking a creek and an example of the modernist architecture appeared in the first part of the 20th century.
These kinds of buildings thanks to the Villa Noailles designed by the architect Robert Mallet Steven or the different projects realized by Le Corbusier in Marseille, became very popular in the last 20 years as showcases for contemporary and modern art thanks to their great volumes.
The concept behind the redevelopment of the space was a simple idea bringing art to a corner of the south of France where not many
Port Tonic will bring life to this corner of south of France with an incredible selection of contemporary and modern art and a residence of artist during the winter time.
This project will bring to life this large space of 4 000 m² overlooking the sea.
Les Issambres, A PLACE IN THE HEART OF THE CÖTE D'AZUR
On the eastern coast of the department of Var, Les Issambres is charming summer holiday village renowned for its 8 km rocky stretch of coast with deep inlets onto the gulf of Saint-Tropez.
It is a residential sector of the city of Roquebrune-sur-Argens, between the massifs des Maures and the Estérel massif.
Easy and various access :
- Located along the RD 559, the coast-road to go towards Saint-Tropez
- At 15 km from the entrance to the A8 highway connecting Cannes, Nice and Monaco to Italy

Port Tonic Art Center, A LIGHTHOUSE OF THE CULTURE OF THE MEDITERRANEAN
Port Tonic Art Center is aiming to become during the summer 2015 the new window for contemporary art in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. in order to promote the dialogue among various cultures Port Tonic will showcase artworks from around the world.
Genesis of Art Tonic, A LONG-STANDING PROJECT
Port Tonic Art Center association was founded in February 2013.
The support of various sponsors and the design of American and French architects started the redevelopment project of the former shipyard.
In 2015 thanks to various investments the space is ready for an exhibition of contemporary art which will opened from July 3rd to September 20th closing the European Heritage Days.
The center will be open to the public and will aim to promote among the younger generations.
Port Tonic Art Center will host during the winter time a residence of young contemporary artists.
Art Tonic 2015, PROMOTE THE DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE CULTURES
The selection of works that will be exhibited at Port Tonic Act Center will go from modern to contemporary art.
Sculptures by Arman and Dali will be presented together with contemporary art like Robert INDIANA, Tomas SARACENO, Wim DELVOYE. The visitor will embark a journey through different cultures and will discover a dialogue among them.
Art Tonic Exhibition will dedicate a special section to the virtual museum BASMOCA.
BASMOCA (Basma Al Sulaiman Museum Of Contemporary Art) is the first virtual museum to present an actual private art collection to a limitless global audience of visitors.
Real art pieces by Saudi artist Ahmed Mater from the virtual museum collection will be exhibited at Port Tonic Art Center .
Strengthening the cosmopolitan scope of this exhibition, the distinguished Basma AL SULAIMAN will take part to Art Tonic Expo by the presentation of the contemporary art collection of BASMOCA Museum.
If inspiration has no limit, art does not know border. Thanks to its pioneering virtual platform, BASMOCA so presents and promotes as well young, emerging artists from Saudi and the Middle East, than young international artists.
Thanks to the accommodation facilities and the large spaces available in Port Tonic Art Center, all new partnerships offer the opportunity of a residence for a new talented artist.
